Unshuffling the Deck

1.
My body, like my mind
has been drifting
Dark, unwashed and unshaven

Doused now and again
with the perfumes of purpose

Glints and glimmers slipping past
through my day's murky waters

The sun points beams between the leaves
and I steam
At times
soaked through with disappointments
yet buoyant
Still lazily floating

2.
Spangled riverbank vignettes
Lush sparkling repasts
Irresistible and rare

Already mine,
a large portion of them,
if only I'd come ashore
