the Beats had their jazz
be-bop scoot-scoodly-woo
boo-wah, yeah
but I for one
found another frequency
a musicality that truly moves me
the oonse-oonse of first
disco then new wave
italo no wave go-go
house garage and techno
minimal drag electro
miami bass or diva
electronic wonks and blonks
the clip-clap of electric trap
or the syncopated snap of 707 handclaps
the pulse of that ancient rhythm
eeking and beeping out of circuitry and chips
making the whole basement sweat and shake their hips
shadowy heads get down down down down
all one in tune with these artificial sounds
but so very real get down
computers kindle human fire
electronics humping the night
so right
two men hunched
and bouncing
LEDs blazing
keyboards and drum machines singing
we all share in its building
bounce together, dance together
1-something in the morning
