cement still wet enough 
to bear footprints 
or other illegible scrawl


a small patch cordoned off
fresh & dark & sweet
a pumpkin pie 
answering the moon


damp & dense the air
like a forgotten dashboard latte
an undried square of driveway
willing to take on more
